Raw Chocolate Smoothie

Give me chocolate – YES CHOCOLATE
In case you guys are feeling the strain of removing those chocolate desserts from your life this month, here’s a super simple little chocolate superfood smoothie to fill you up for longer and help satisfy any sweet cravings. Remember that raw cacao (yes it is said ‘ka-kow’ as in ‘cat and cow’) is indeed high in anti-oxidants, magnesium (a muscle relaxant) and apparently Vitamin C too (who knew!)… Remember to pre-soak your chia seeds, even just for 5 minutes. Make sure you get that gel forming before rushing into the blending, this will help everything move along nicely in your digestive system.

  • 1 cup milk (almond, coconut….)
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen berries
  • 1 tbsp raw cacao powder
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
  • ¼ tsp cinnamon to balance your blood sugar
  • ½-1 scoop natural or berry protein powder
  • A dash of sea salt if you fancy
  • A little stevia if you’re not sweet enough

Top with raw cacao nibs for some crunch factor
