Many people hear the word YOGA and run from the building screaming… well, not OUR building! Yoga at Karmony is SO different to what you might expect. Classes are expertly and brilliantly designed, like our group classes, to optimise human performance, not to run away and hide on a mountain top. Our yoga classes are unique, challenging and intended to balance the body (strength & stability versus stretch & mobility), to give you the space you need and to teach each individual a deep and personal self and body connection. We offer strong yoga classes, blends such as barre yoga and boxing with barre, as well as Yin Yoga which can best be described as ‘meditative stretching’… guaranteed, you always feel amazing when you leave.
Barre classes are brilliant both for posture training and hip stability as they are for pure aesthetic purposes (building the butt you’ve always wanted)… you will get both. Designed with the intent of coaching and building greater stability within the body and enhanced mind/body connection and understanding. Think ‘standing pilates’. These classes are ideal and encouraged for beginners to any discipline of movement. The ‘micro’ awareness that you learn carries over to and benefits the larger movements in the gym.
In Pilates classes, you can expect a combination of strength, mobility and stability bodyweight exercises with a core focus. Pilates is an awesome way to learn how to move and use the muscles you need to feel strong in and outside the gym. Pilates is well known to treat areas of tension, pain or rehabilitate parts of the body after injury.
